We would like to inform you that the Board has reviewed the Nationals Advisory Committee’s report on proposed National Specialty sites, including Kern County Fairgrounds in Bakersfield, California, Island Grove in Greeley, Colorado, Fonner Park in Grand Island, Nebraska, and Brazos County Expo in Bryan, Texas. Director Wesen is also investigating two sites in New York.
During the discussion, it was suggested that Grand Island be considered for the 2024 and 2026 Nationals instead of 2024 and 2025, as originally planned. Director Creelman will reach out to Grand Island to discuss this possibility. If Grand Island agrees to the change, the Board will select one of the other proposed sites for the 2025 Nationals. If they cannot accommodate this change, one of the other proposed sites will be selected for the 2026 Nationals.
Additionally, Director Sims motioned that ASCA return to a rotation policy for the National Specialty. After Director Creelman consults with Grand Island and Director Wesen gets more information on the sites in New York, the Board will determine the rotation policy.
We want to reassure the membership that the plan is to rotate between sites around the country for the National Specialty.
Sincerely,
Kalla Jaco
ASCA Executive Secretary
