Seeing outdated information? Refresh your browser’s cache
If a page on asca.org shows outdated information, missing updates, or a table that does not look right, your browser may be displaying an older saved copy of the page.
We have corrected a website caching issue, but some devices may still have older copies saved. Follow the instructions below to load the current version.
Using a computer? Start with a hard refresh. Using a phone or tablet? Go to the instructions for your browser below.
What is a browser cache?
Your browser saves copies of website files to help pages load faster. These saved files are called the cache (pronounced “cash”). Sometimes an older copy remains saved after a website changes.
A hard refresh reloads the page without using its cached copy. Clearing the cache removes saved files so your browser can download fresh copies.
Before starting, save or submit any unfinished forms.
Windows and Mac: try a hard refresh first
Open the ASCA page that is showing outdated information, then use the shortcut for your browser. Hold down the listed keys together.
| Browser | Windows | Mac |
|---|---|---|
| Google Chrome | Ctrl + Shift + R | Command (⌘) + Shift + R |
| Microsoft Edge | Ctrl + Shift + R | Command (⌘) + Shift + R |
| Mozilla Firefox | Ctrl + Shift + R | Command (⌘) + Shift + R |
| Apple Safari | — | Command (⌘) + Option (⌥) + R |
Safari is available on Mac; a current Windows version is not available.
Wait for the page to finish loading, then check the information again. A hard refresh does not delete saved passwords or sign you out. If it fixes the problem, you’re done.

Will this delete my passwords or other information?
Selecting only cached files leaves your saved passwords, bookmarks, browsing history, and sign-in cookies in place. It removes temporary website files, which your browser downloads again as needed.
The Safari instructions and the Firefox iPhone/iPad instructions remove ASCA’s website data, including cookies. You may need to sign in again, but your saved passwords and bookmarks remain.
Menu names may vary slightly depending on your browser version.
