In 1995, after five years of development, ASCA incorporated Agility competition into its competitive programs. ASCA Agility is open to all breeds. There are two programs, Championship and ACE (Agility Competition Enthusiast). The ACE program offers the opportunity for dogs to jump one jump height lower with additional course time than the Championship program. The Championship program offers three divisions; Standard, Veteran Dog for dogs 7 years and older and Junior Handler. The ACE program offers two divisions; Standard and Senior Dog for dogs 7 years and older. In each program, there are three titling classes; Regular, Jumpers, and Gamblers and three levels offered; Novice, Open, and Elite for each class.
The ultimate title in the Championship program is the Agility Trial Champion (ATCH) and in the ACE program it is called Agility Competitor Extraordinaire (ACE).
This fun and challenging team work sport offers great competition. Most dogs enjoy the sport of agility. Although it may look easy, it takes a lot of time and training for a dog and handler to become a team.
